A Glass of Water

A piece of interactive fiction in which our humble protagonist, a traveler, walks into a saloon, dehydrated and exhausted. They must have a glass of water as soon as possible, or they might not last the day! This sample was created as part of the Narrative Department’s Masterclass 1 class. The piece can be found here and the miro board can be found here!

Process

  1. Given the prompt of a character needing a glass of water, I chose a Wild West Saloon as the location, given that settings propensity for high drama and adverse enviroments.

  2. Given that this sample is one with branching dialogue, I started by outlining the piece in Miro, prioritizing a workable scale as well as readability so that others would not have trouble understanding the outline.

  3. I submitted the outline for feedback, taking into account the comments given by my classmates to further improve the outline.

  4. Selecting the Twine tool, I implemented the outline, fleshing out the choices by adding additional story context to all of the scenes!
